Driven by his passion for music and deeply inspired by his love for family, Richard is bringing his talents to new and exciting places. During the 2008 holiday season, he created the Goodwill Radio Tour to raise funds for local and national charities. In the process, he conducted on-air interviews and performed “Everything Beautiful To Me” on radio stations across America. With his newly-launched affiliation with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), Richard is enjoying success in this exciting entertainment arena. With his music rocking the house while wrestlers entered the ring, he performed at the NWA Wrestling Showcase Event at Columbia Square in Hollywood.
As a young boy, the multi-talented singer and musician spent endless hours playing the piano and writing songs. “I would just sit there playing and experimenting with different ideas,” he says, “but my first real thought of a musical career came when I was watching reruns of the Monkees on MTV. They were having a blast, without a care in the world. I thought to myself, ‘that looks like a really cool job to have!’ Then when I started going to concerts, the bug really hit me.”
Richard’s musical influences broadened to include Gram Parsons, Flying Burrito Brothers, Waylon Jennings, Buck Owens and Porter Wagoner. “These guys made a huge impact on my musical direction and dreams,” he notes. “My musical past and present go from traditional country to classic and Southern rock. I was just listening to Stevie Wonder’s ‘Isn’t She Lovely,’ and ‘If it’s Magic’ from the Songs in the Key of Life album, and I just thought that these are such simple, straightforward, inspiring and timeless songs. I began realizing that the most important thing a songwriter can do is touch people. The positive response we’ve been getting with our songs is exciting and gratifying. We’re connecting with audiences in the rock, country and inspirational country markets. I am so grateful to the many fans and friends I’ve been so fortunate to make. I look forward to the upcoming year on the road where I hope to encounter many more.”
Richard’s new single, “Stomp,” a hard-driving departure from “Everything Beautiful To Me,” will be promoted to country radio Spring 2009.
