…a few words about Davy:

…a few words about Davy:

I am so saddened in my spirit to know that Davy Jones has died. He remains a hero to me. We will continue to pray for his family and closest friends.

We all admire his humor and generosity and TALENT. The records he made with the Monkees are some of the best records ever made.

I got to meet Davy a few years back, and felt privileged to tell him, “I honestly would not be playing music today , if it wasn’t for your influence.”

When I was a little kid, If someone asked me, “What do you wanna be when you grow up?”…well, I wanted to be Davy Jones. And I still dream.

Busy ICM Week for Steve Richard in Nashville!

Force MP Entertainment recording artist Steve Richard had a busy schedule in Nashville last week.  The ICM award winner and  2011 nominee was in town participating in Inspirational Country Music Week as well as promoting his current hit single “Love’s Gotta Go Somewhere.”

On Tuesday Steve attended the Power Source Media Luncheon, held at the Wildhorse Saloon, where he accepted an award for his #1 single “Eighty Acre Church.”

On Wednesday, he was treated to a personal tour of Nashville’s Second Harvest Food Bank, one of the largest food bank facilities in the United States.  Steve assisted a young teenage lady last year in raising enough money to feed 500 families at Thanksgiving. He wanted to witness first hand the good works of Second Harvest in hopes of lending his talent and efforts to help further their cause as well.

On Thursday, Steve visited Renegade Radio Nashville, a LIVE internet radio show which broadcasts from Music Row.  He talked on air with Captain Jack about his ICM nominations and the songs on his current EP release UP TO SOMETHIN.’ Thursday evening, Steve treated the convention attendees to an acoustic performance of “Love’s Gotta Go Somewhere’ and “Love Anyhow” at a VIP reception at the Millenium Maxwell House before rounding out the week with attending the 2011 ICM Awards on Friday evening.

Steve and his lovely wife, Rachelle, arrived at the pink carpet “in style” in a vintage white Jaguar.  After speaking with press outlets on the pink carpet and showing their support for breast cancer awareness and for breast cancer survivors attending the show by carrying white scarves adorned with pink ribbons, Steve and Rachelle were escorted to their seats for the awards ceremony. Steve presented the Mainstream Inspirational Song Award which went to Justin Moore.

After the ceremony, Steve attended the after show celebration before heading back to his home in St. Louis to continue work on his new music project which will release in 2012.
